About The Maker - Black Sheep Goods

Ashley Owens of Black Sheep Goods is a Nashville, TN native and mother of 2 boys. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Zane, who is her biggest supporter and sometimes her pro-bono helper. Her love of fiber art started when she was pregnant with her first son after teaching herself how to arm knit. Wanting to dive deeper into the world of fiber she always kept her eye open during her weekly yard sale outing.

One day while on a yard sale adventure she stumbled upon a pile of yarn and a vintage rigid heddle weaving loom. The next few days she researched and watched countless youtube videos to learn how to weave. She became quickly obsessed. Or what she likes to say, she caught weaver fever.

Wanting to spread the joy and meditative quality of weaving, she decided to design a beginners weaving kit. And so, the Pop Out Loom & Tools was born. Since then, it has been carried in over 300 shops and has taught thousands of happy hands how to weave.

Always wanting to know more about the fiber and textile world, Ashley has taught herself how to do macrame, ice dye clothes, rug tufting, and how to process & spin yarn. Welcome to her shop of her many goods where you will find one of a kind creations handmade with love.
